Education Excursion

One day Educational Excursion trip was organized by Kendriya Vidyalaya Chamera-1 for the students of classes IX-X & XII on 29-04-2024 to visit a Hydroelectric Power generation Plant at NHPC (HEP)CHAMERA-1 (Khairi)-Distt. Chamba(HP). Principal KV Chamera-1, Mrs Vijeta Dara departed the students and escort teachers to educational excursion by showing the green flag.Students were assisted by NHPC officials and they watch and learn the functionality of NHPC (HEP) Power station(540 M.W).
the journey begin at 11:00 am in the Buses of NHPC and reached at 11:20 am at the location (NHPC-POWER STATION).After that all students along with faculty members were taken to the Site, where the plant to generate the electricity was installed.NHPC Officials told us that they started this project in the year-1994 and demonstrated different components used for electricity generation.This Project is wholly situated underground.The water from local river ‘Ravi’ was channelized to fall from suitable height to rotate the Turbine.
It was a new, interesting and informative experience for all of us. We also visited the control room from where all the machineries are watched & controlled. we also clicked group photographs . We departed from Power station at 1: 00 pm and reached back at KV CHAMERA-1 AT 1:20 P.M.
